Mothers keep memories! Often in a scrapbook.
What if the mother of Jesus kept a scrapbook? It would be filled with what kept in her heart.
Might the mysteries of the Rosary be a peek at her memories of Jesus?

Mary “kept all these things, pondering them in her heart” (Lk 2:19; cf. 2:51). We can remember with Mary some of the memories she kept in her heart. The rosary is an invitation to look through her mother’s eyes at Jesus, the center of her life!

I never appreciated the fourth mystery of the rosary as an encounter between the old and the young. But it is a theme that runs through many of Pope Francis’ homilies on February 2.

To me, that’s another way of saying she kept her scrapbook of memories of special memories of her son in her heart.
