In his adult life, Jesus had regular interactions and conversations with the scribes, Pharisees, and teachers of the law — highly educated men with a vast knowledge of the Jewish faith.
But, there is not a single account in Scripture where a man manages to change Jesus’s mind.
The two people who changed Jesus’s mind were, in fact, both women.
Walking on water is a phrase we often associate with an arrogant, overly confident person. You know the kind. They can be quite annoying.
However, it didn’t always mean that.
We sing ““All are welcome! All are welcome! …Let us build a house where love can dwell and all can safely live”.

The answer to that can range from a literal crucifixion, through legalism, to “putting on the mind of Christ.”

But, there is another fact of life. We can and should learn from disagreements.

In our polarized world, everybody wants to change our way of thinking. Does God also want us to change? What change of thinking is God asking… and how would it change how we live?
Pope Francis writes movingly that we are not only God’s story but that we must also be God’s storytellers… that story as lived in us and in our brothers and sisters. Vincentians accept the special vocation to tell God’s story.
It is the mission of Vincentians to focus on sharing stories of the forgotten and marginalized.

As I was thinking about the feast of Christ the King, I wondered how the “duck test” might apply to followers of Christ the King.
Jesus did not found the church as an institution with a slick “Public Relations” plan. He started a movement that developed into the community we know as the early church.
