It is a shame that most people only hear polarized pundits cherry-picking from a select few paragraphs, or even just footnotes. It is in reality an inspiring document describing and addressed to the real family of today.

Holiness will look very different, depending on the health of the family dynamics, but regardless, all families are called to holiness.
Over more than 80 years my concept of family has continually expanded and challenges me. I am finally beginning to realize we are all family, God’s family, each and every one of us. And we are called to celebrate who we are.
Is your family perfect? No? Isn’t the birth of Jesus an invitation to a radical change in our thinking to grow into the mind of Christ’s way of thinking? It is okay to develop and grow within our family… as Jesus did!
