Pope Francis sees mission as a way of speaking about the road BACK from Emmaus to Jerusalem with “hearts on fire and feet on the move.”

Up until now, I never thought about “how” Jesus shared his news with the two disciples on the road to Emmaus.
I never paid attention to the “how” he shared the good news in each of the appearances after his resurrection.

Emmaus describes Jesus encountering confused disciples. He first listens to their pain, then makes connections they had missed. They recognize him when they break bread together.
This is how Pope Francis looks to lead the Church into the third millennium.
